Wine
During September every year, vineyards all over the slopes in the mountains of Kissamos get “alive”. Willing children and experienced old men collect the must in oak barrels to ferment in the darkness of the cellars and produce the “Kissamitiko” (meaning from Kissamos) Roman and Marouvas varieties of wines. The products, tsikoudia, raki, protoraki, rakomelo, hold the distinctive taste of Kissamos.
